Being fit is meaningless when you don’t try to share the gift of wellness with the people around you.
While some of you may be, the rest will either ignore the question or simply run away from the implication of so much responsibility. I just need you to hear this, loud and clear: We are all CEOs.
That’s right. Regardless of the position you hold at your company, you’re the CEO of your own body. You take charge of stuff, making the decisions about what to eat, when and where to exercise, or not at all. All of us are aware that making those decisions is not a simple task. There are plenty of consequences behind every action, but that’s the nature of the CEO’s job. And there’s no shying away from it.
We also know that in order to be successful CEO’s of our bodies, we need to establish goals, stay focused and have strong commitments. So, it doesn’t matter if you’re leading thousands of employees or just your own body. We’re still counting on you being healthy and fit to reap the benefits of all that hard work!
THE HEALTHIEST THING I DO AT WORK IS
Try to have as much face-to-face time as possible with my team. It encourages me to move around and walk as much as I can, but it’s also important to have human contact at all times to remind us we’re dealing with actual people, not just names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
THE BEST EXERCISE YOU CAN DO AT THE OFFICE
Breathe! Yes, simply take some deep breaths and stretch your back, shoulders and neck, particularly when you’re trying to solve a problem. That helps me clear my mind and not fire someone today.
THE QUALITY I ADMIRE MOST IN PEOPLE WHO WORK WITH ME IS
Their commitment and passion. When I come in every day and I see that spark in their eyes, truly enjoying what they’re doing, I say to myself: This is a team of winners.
SOMETHING THAT WOULD MAKE MY WORK DAY A WHOLE LOT EASIER
