My Personal Best
Welcome to the SOBeFiT Gym, designed especially for you!

What you’re holding isn’t just a magazine – it’s a roomful of the right tools to help you achieve your strength and fitness goals.
After 15 years in this industry, first as a fitness freak, later as a gym owner and now as Editor-in-Chief of this magazine, I’ve met the whole range of fitness enthusiasts. From those who entangle themselves pulling cables in all directions to the precious few who actually become experts of sorts. To provide the best possible service to both types of customers (and everyone in between) at my own fitness facility, I used to visit health clubs everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE.
Through my globetrotting journeys, I found plenty of gyms that qualified as such only because they managed to offer at least one matching set of dumbbells. But I also had the opportunity to discover state-of-the-art facilities that made me wish I could spend the whole day in them.
One of my goals with this magazine has been to provide you with the most informative, thorough, clear, updated and practical information that will let you draw your own unique path toward a healthy life. But it’s also to provide constant motivation to take action. Whether you are already into fitness or want to incorporate it as a main part of your new resolutions for the year, I want to help you every step of the way.
That’s why I built the SOBeFiT Gym – at least on paper. Think of it as a magazine-wide concept that will enhance your fitness experience from beginning to end, with the ultimate goal of helping you achieve victory in record time. Step inside and discover which type of exercise regimen is a better fit for your lifestyle; why certain strength-training machines should be avoided; what the most common fitness-related mistakes are; and even a one-on-one personal consultation with me.
This team-wide effort from your SOBeFiT family will hopefully dispel the misinformation and dubious claims that float around people’s minds whenever they venture into the world of fitness. So, let’s throw on some workout clothes, lace up a pair of sneakers and sign on to be a member of the SOBeFiT Gym! I’m sure that after the first sweat-inducing session, you won’t want to leave!
SOBeFiT’s simple guide to club perfection can be found in our January/February 2010 issue.
