MY PERSONAL BEST
Ready to take off on the biggest race of my life: Launching SOBeFiT Magazine.

Earlier this year, I finished the Miami Half-Marathon feeling pretty sure I had just beaten my previous best time. Turns out I had (at 1:39:40), but the odd thing is that scarcely an hour after crossing the finish line, I was already thinking about how much I could improve on that mark. Not that I didn’t enjoy the accomplishment, mind you. But I couldn’t help thinking about that new challenge, a renewed chance to test myself once more.
My entire life has been like this: a renewed effort to do my best in any field in which I’ve worked, making use of what I’ve learned on the subjects of discipline, excellence, professionalism and what I consider the perfect ingredient to achieve any goal: passion.
So here I am, about to take off on the biggest race of my life: launching SoBeFit with the objective of becoming a nationally-recognized source of South Florida-centric information and practical knowledge on the topics of health, fitness, sports and nutrition, for men and women of all ages, learning from their triumphs and defeats, and sharing their dreams of achieving fuller, richer lives.
Ambitious? It is. Tough? You bet. Painful? At times, I’m sure it will be. Rewarding? There is no doubt in my mind.
Oh, and my personal best? It’s yet to come.
Aside from my daily 3:30am run, I also enjoy the simpler things in life. Here are my top picks that I think you’ll enjoy.
MY FITNESS FAVORITE: THE SQUAT
Strengthens your entire lower body as well as isolated parts of the lower back and core muscles while keeping your heart rate up.
MY SUPPLEMENT: VITAMIN C
Studies have shown that Vitamin C decreases the chance of upper respiratory infections and shortens the recovery phase after intense training periods. Try increasing your intake of citrus fruits, strawberries and broccoli in your diet.
MY FOOD: BROCCOLI
Improves your immune system while satisfying your appetite, with 572 mg of potassium, 139 mg of vitamin C, and 5 grams of fiber.
MY SONG: "SON OF MAN"
This Phil Collins tune gets my heart racing!
Discipline, excellence, professionalism, and passion are the key ingredients to success.
